Re: 1969 Olive Stepper
Im going to be starting my total floor replacement can you tell me how you did the inner framing to hold the cab square. Looks great. Does the complete panel come with the cab supports or do you have to buy those separate. Thanks for any input.

The whole floor fit very well and did come with the supports (Only way in go IMO) It made lining up the A & B pillars, and the rockers very easy once the floor was installed. Definatally recomend over patch panels. Plus with the body work getting done you cant even find the welds for the cab corners so now this thing looks fantastic! |

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper
Nice to meet you today Scott. Your project looks awesome, looking forward to seeing it in paint. What body shop did you send it to? I am going to need a good shop for when the time comes. Take care bud

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper
No problem. Im using a local guy to my shop in coram called Good Sheppard. He does other stuff for us in the golf car end, so I felt comfortable with him. I stopped in last week and the cab looks sick. Theres no paint on it yet, but he's nearly done smoothing out the body and I couldnt believe how great it looked. Im being real patient so he takes his time, but Im sure it'll look great. I may have the cab back friday. I spoke with a few shops and got a few prices. all were in the 6K-7k range. I know chris on the north shore had his done for $3500, but not sure who he used.

I hope to get the window, Weatherstrip, door latches and peadl assy in this week and than get the cab back on the chassis Saturday just in time for my Birthday! Worked out great in that respect! Than I can park it in the center of the garage far away from everything else and slowly build it back up. |

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper
Damn! Just realized I put that label on upside down. SOB!!!!!!
Crisis averted. Managed to get it off in one piece with a blow dryer and flip it. Just smuged up a corner a bit. Now it looks more authentic Last edited by blkcorvair; 02-06-2012 at 06:43 PM. |

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper
Thanks. The full floor replacement was key. The body shop did an outstanding job with the finish work. He even smoothed the welds on the back side of the cab corners. You cant find any panel replacement lines anymore. Looks as it did friom the factory. Very happy!
