Wash day

So I got the Cheyenne and the K5 out to wash yesterday. I am trying to decide if I want the body guy to just align the panels on the K5 and enjoy the patina look, or go for a full repaint and new trim. What do you guys think?

Re: Wash day

Both trucks looks great!. How long do you want to be without the blazer if it went in for paint? Would you be happy if someone got a pretty close match on the patches and did some alignment on the trim and panels? Its up to you, and your wallet. Or Just Drive it.

Id blend it and enjoy it, looks good. No offense (and I know theyre not all created equal) but SOME painters may have your ride for years.

Re: Wash day

Thnks for the advice. After 3+ years of trying to make up my mind, I finally decided to go for the body work, trim and repaint. I dropped it off on Saturday. The body man and painter is a local guy with his own shop. I went by today to drop off new trim, rubber and marker lights and he is almost finished with the tear down and much of the sanding. He said that the job should be complete in a couple more weeks, and at a reasonable price. I'll post pics soon.

Thanks, I plan to hold on to both and pass them along to my sons. I hope they enjoy them as much as I have!

Re: Wash day

Paint is on, trim going on over the next few days. I couldn't stand the medium olive color when I first bought this truck, but now I love it. It seems to grow on you over time.

Re: Wash day

Nice looking Blazer. The spare is cool! It's got to be early 70's with that tread pattern. I was thinking of putting a center cap and trim ring on my spare too. Nice looking truck too.

Thanks, I actually picked up the spare wheel and tire on CL for $40 about three years ago while living in Raleigh. I'm not sure how old, but the tread design, sizing and periods after the B and F make me think it's from the early to mid 70s.

Re: Wash day

Paint is looking Fantastic, IMO this is the hard part getting it back together without scuffing the paint.

Re: Wash day

Picked it up today. I still need to put the spare tire carrier back on and a few other odds and ends, but pretty pleased with the way it turned out.
