Re: Keep the sunroof?
I see a lot of "like its" so I don't think it would deter a sale any more than any other touch a person might do to customize a truck. And, it's not an aftermarket sunroof, it's a custom job using a factory sunroof.

Re: Keep the sunroof?
The sunroof adds that much more to the truck as far as personal touches go!
I think it is a big add to the truck. It's the same thing as one who lower his ride, bags it are even cuts the dash for a better sound system. Personal taste is what so great about this site! If I was looking for a custom truck to buy it would be high on my list just because you don't see many if any with a custom sunroof!

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I like it for a sporty look on a shortbed. Might look out of place on a longbed. But I tell you I loved my sunroof on my Range Rover. I could sit on the roof and drive around with my feet on the steering wheel. It retracted into the roof though.

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I would keep it. Like most I am not a fan of sun roofs but that looks slick. If it has a vent position I would use it all the time to keep the cab cooler when at the store or wherever when parked and don't want the windows down.

Just watch out for jealous girls who like to pour things inside open sun roofs...

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I'm with Andy and Tim on this one! That looks BAD ASS and will get many a thumbs up if "done (finished) correctly!"...I like it! Its as much a "Moon Roof" as it is a "sun roof"...And the road hunting possibilities are endless! Well done!

Re: Keep the sunroof?
In most cases a sunroof does not compliment the style of these trucks but yours so is well done and functions differently then the majority of the ones out there.
It would be a shame to undo that work of art. Great job! |

Re: Keep the sunroof?
You should've asked BEFORE you installed it! Ha. First of all, you did a BEAUTIFUL job on this. It looks good closed. I think there's really no way to make it look good when it's open. I'd say leave it as is - because you must've wanted it, you installed it, right? If regrets now - well, only you know the level of work to remove/fill. But, judging by how well you did the install, am guessing the patching up might not be as hard for you as it would be for most of us. If you're ever possibly gonna sell it - well, yes, I hate to say it, yank it and fill. If YOU like it, then leave it and don't worry about it! Or, compromise - leave it for now, if you like it, then fill n squirt if you decide to sell. Same amount of work in the long run. If you DON'T like it now - and I fear that is the real situation, since you're asking us, right after you did such a great job installing it - well, then you have your answer It must go.

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I think it looks nice! I would leave it. I've never seen that style in a truck, usually they look cheap to me but yours looks a little elegant. Leave that sucker!

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I hate sunroofs. I'd never think to put one in.
However, after seeing the pics. I love it. It looks great. If I weren't so picky about cutting dashes for radios, doors for speakers, etc. I'd put one in my truck. It looks perfect for the truck. Keep it. |

Re: Keep the sunroof?
I had a yota with a sunroof once, but it was glass, and just a pop up/off, I loved it, I think it had way better airflow than any other truck I had, and unlike the rear slider, it never back drafted **** in from my bed. That being said, the bigges issue with it was it leaked, so in the winter.... out came the duct tape. I would fill the grooves around your sunroof with water and see if it disapears quicker than a day. might look into a drain tube for the tracks before you button it all up. Just my $.02, but being that you just replaced a cab for rust issues, the last thing you want is a leaking sunroof.
oh, btw, it looks badass, individuality is what kustom is all about.

Re: Keep the sunroof?
also if its possible to replace the stealth sheetmetal on the roof with the original piece so that it sits more flush, I would definitely do that
