1960 Door latch...aftermarket or?

My door latch on the drivers side has never worked correctly. It locks but will not open the door from the inside. Just wondering if anyone has had exp with the aftermarket ones? Just hate to buy a used one and have the same issue..

1960 Short fleet... Thanks

Did you pull the interior panel off to see if you can see the issue?

Pulled it apart.. It appears just a bend was the problem, I bent it back and it works correctly although obviously the metal is fatigued so it will probably happen again. Possibly need to replace but hate to replace things with Chinesium.

Re: 1960 Door latch...aftermarket or?

Just some assembly idiosyncrasies and interchangeability with the aftermarket parts from my experience. My truck also had worn out door controls. I also went with aftermarket controls, but I had to also get new latches, and new inner door handles as my OE handle no longer fit the splines. It would've been better if I had purchased the new door controls, latches, and inner handles at one time to save on the shipping from placing three separate orders.

The aftermarket parts probably will not withstand the same amount of abuse over time, but seem to work well enough.

It's usually an adjustment or tweaked linkage problem

If I remember right...you have the door handle relay's switched rt/lt sides. The rod should be diagonal thru the access opening opposite of what you would think...I'm searching my build pictures but I did the same thing...You should be pushing on the latch instead of pulling
