HEI timing curve thingy
A year ago I discovered the original mechanical timing curve thing, was worn and broke. Then I discovered you cant just buy a OEM type replacement one at most parts stores unless you buy a whole nother brand new $$$$$ distributor too.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My question is where can I get a *new* OEM curve kit?? thanks ![]()

Re: HEI timing curve thingy
This is my mechanical advance curve kit. Mr Gasket #929g http://performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=74317
I just read http://www.thirdgen.org/hei Maybe its the vacuum advance that i need. On mine is not adjustable. What is a good adjustable vacuum advance? I have to run 4 degrees retarded or suffer "3 rocks in a coffee can" detonation or drive with the vacuum capped off like I have for the last year. Question again if you don't want to read all that: What is a good adjustable vacuum advance?

Re: HEI timing curve thingy
Thanks. Actually I had that saved that under my favorites
![]() Bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brand...QQcmdZViewItem This is adjustable just for total vacuum advance as far as I know. ![]() I am sure it is a lot better than having NO vacuum advance, like i have now. ![]() Should I have gotten one that is adjustable for rate too? ![]()
