I put in a good 8 hrs on it today. After about 11tybillion little tacks ,I got the driver side completely finished and about 80% on the passenger side. Tomorrow I hope to finish the wheelwells and start on the notch cover.

I most definitely know why most people just use round tubs.....much much easier.

not sure on the front, whatever I can find that will match up to a 285/35 on the rear. Im picky and have to have matching tread.

but easy almost never looks as good has the true hard work that goes into the details such as like what you did with the tubs which i love by the way

There is a whole year from now until then, if a few of us put a little effort into it could be done. Even if just 30 2wd blazers showed up I bet it would be the biggest number all together in one place at one time since they rolled out of the factory. That would be cool.

I managed to get a few more hours in today. I finished welding in the passenger side wheelwell. I had to trim some more of the floor because at full dump the axle tube actually comes up into the floor slightly.

I got the notch cover all tacked up, just before I ran out of shielding gas

. anyway, I made it in three section so that the center could actually fit up under the rear seat. The outer edges only needed to be about 1" tall. The center section ended up being 4.5" tall. this will raise the front of the seat from the factory height very slightly, but I think I can deal with it.

I will also have to fab some new front mounts for the seat.

less than an inch, im shooting for about 1/2", but we will see how it goes when I start building the bracket for the front.

I wouldnt really call it a mock up, but you can kind of get an idea as to what it might look like

Yes it would be easier, but it would also raise the back of the seat up. The seat actually sits down around the notch cover. This will keep it from sitting up too high and looking awkward. That, and the fact that my sheetmetal break is only 48" wide.
