Re: 72 Dual tanks valve
Yes.
Step one: Put a 1/2 inch breaker bar in the square hole in the bottom of the tank fastener. WHEN it rounds out or simply spins the top bolt head in the bed, move to step two. Step two: Support the bottom of the tank on a jack stand, put a flap disk in your grinder, and grid the heads off the two carriage bolts that are in your bed that are on the top of the fasteners you just ruined in step 1. To put it back together, I bought 1/2 inch carriage bolts and 1/2 inch threaded rod. I welded the two together to make to carriage bolts the length I needed. My tank came out because it was leaking. The guy at the radiator shop that fixed my leaks was impressed with the construction of the extra tank. It is made out of steel plate. You'll probably be long gone before it rusts out. I put a coat of POR-15 on the outside of mine since I had it out anyways. I also made a 2nd hole in the top and dropped in a fuel level float as mine came with no such equipment. I believe the gauge and float were on the order of $15 at JC Whitney. Money well spent in my opinion.
