Here's my first truck, its a 77 sport. Still has the light bar, but the stripes were gone when I got it. My dad peeled them off because somebody keyed them up so bad they were toast.

I picked up another '69 driver later that day and thought i would have a tough decision ahead of me until i circled back and saw the asking price for this (5800)

Sorry about resurrecting an old post, but it is a good one, and I have been away for awhile. Seeing this truck spotted by Streetstar prompted me to highlight a little bit of Chevy Sport trivia here.

This Chevy Sport appears to be a Bonanza, which makes it even more unusual than the "typical" Chevy Sport, if any Chevy Sport could be considered typical. 1980, to the best of my knowledge, was the final year that the Bonanza nameplate was offered for Chevy pickups, and it was the only year that the Bonanza package was offered for a Sport-trimmed pickup. This is the first real life example of a 1980 Chevy Sport Bonanza that I have ever seen, outside of the 1980 Bonanza special edition dealer brochure.

Just my 2 cents...

No, i sold that truck in 2002. I had it back before I got into the internet and could never find them by just going to dealers and such. I do see stripes for them come through e-bay now and then. It's a four color stripe. GM called it "quadra-tone" stripes. And at the back of the bedsides it said chevy sport.

80SPORT,
I may have located a couple individual pieces of the graphics. I intend to make patterns from them.

If I get them done, I'll let ya know!!

I'm not familiar with the style on the 79....can you post a pic?

Re: Desert Fox, Chevy Sport, and Sun Tiger

Nice! There is actually a Sun Tiger in town. I haven't seen it in 7-10 years, but it's probably in a garage being restored. Dodge made a convertible Dakota too.

Hmm. Also this 69.

Re: Desert Fox, Chevy Sport, and Sun Tiger

Here are some pictures of my 1977 Chevy Sport. I am looking to redo my Cheyenne to replicate this Scottsdale/Chevy Sport someday. I have one NOS passenger door lower stripe and am looking for the rest. I'll probably paint the stripes on if I can't find them when I'm ready to restore the truck.
BTW - forgive the add-ons, a teenager with a JC Whitney catalog and a credit card could be dangerous back in the 70's.
