Re: i need help

the engine serial number on chevy engines is on the (i believe) passenger side of the engine directly in front of the head...there should be a portion of the block not covered by the head that will have a number stamped on it..there is also the block casting number on the drivers side rear on the bell housing flange and it will be raised not stamped like the serial number. I wouldn't worry about the oilcooler in the radiator. I once had a suburban with a towing package that came with the same thing.

Re: i need help

you should be able to start her with all the vaccuum lines plugged. don't forget the tried and true "fuel, air, Spark" if you've got all three at the right time she'll fire up

Re: i need help

i think you mis understood me....all the lines don't have to always be connected for the vehicle to run. just make sure the ones that aren't are capped off so there is no loss of vaccuum or pressure. the vaccuum loss can keep the engine from starting even if all the lines are connected properly
