i need help

hello i am new here so sorry if i do something wrong. and i am form croatia so sorry for my english...

anyway, i have k5 82, silverdao, bought it few months ago. it vas 6,2 diesel silverado, but preowner replace it with 305 from some dodge van. whan i bought it it wouldn't start at all, acctualy it fired but only for short time and on maybe 6cylinders, and i tought ok this may be just carb rebuilt question, but when i took of the carb i noticed few things missing. so what i'll need is carb. it was dualjet 210 on it, but does anyone here knows something better to put on it?

Re: i need help

Do you know what size v8 it is? If I had to pick I would say a holly would work good for you. Maybe a 600CFM holly.

Is your intake 4-Barrel one? If so you will be ok.

Re: i need help

you're going to have to remove the air filter assembly and look. If the existing carb is 4 barrel chances are the intake is also. look at the ones on the summit website for comparison. if you can take a picture and post it here we will do what we can to help identify what you've got.

Re: i need help

if you have a dual jet it is a 2 barrel carb and most likely a 2 barrel intake.
if you look at the top of the carb you'll see it appears to be in the shape of a half circle ..like a D....a four barrel will be in the shape of a full circle a O you will have to purchase a new intake to use a 4 barrel carb or use a 2 barrel carb.
The 2 barrel carb will get slightly better mileage but will have les power.

Re: i need help

...hmmm maybe you'll all now think look that stupid...but i was amazed when i found on e bay adapters for carbs...does that really works? i mean could i put adapter on my stock 2 bbl inatake manifold and convert it to accept 4 bbl edelbrock or holey?
will it work ok? it could save me 200$ in cheapest option....i mean if i buy that and not chepest manifold...

Re: i need help

so after few hours of google all i found is that my carb is M2MC...
i'm at the point to smash that guy who screw me...but ok this is my fault. i saw it, try to fire it...

and only idea is to buy adapter to hold that edelbrock 1405 on it...and than someday buy manifold....

Re: i need help

i can find you carb for sale but the link i sent is the only indication as to what the cfm for the 2 barrel is. after the research i did i beieve that putting on the 4 barrel with the plat may be closer to the original CFM for the chevy 305. the only question was is this a dodge or chevy engine? you mentioned dodge in the first post. you should see if you can identify the complete engine and see exactly what it came out of year etcetera
here is a link but again shipping may be a bit steep
