Looks good Jeff! You're ahead of me. My cab is still sitting untouched with paint on it. I need to start sanding it down. Although I won't be taking mine down to bare metal.

Those Painless kits are really nice! But man, they're proud of them. There are other kits made by companies like "Hod Rod Wires" that I'd like to check out. Their kits are half the price but don't know if the price reflects the quality.

Jeff, if I can ask, how much did the soda blasting run? And why soda and not beads or some other media?

Dude i put my truck in the shop to get EVERYTHING shaved and painted due to the ullucky happenings of sleep deprevation. its been in there for almost two months with a good friend doing the work i got one of the managers to give me a quote on the shaveing and with parts labor paint and materials it would have cost me close to $8,000. But due too FRIENDS i am slipping away with $1,000... god bless family and friends!!!!!

Scott, the soda blasting wasn't very cheap, I paid $250 to have just the cab done. Soda is more expensive then most other forms of blasting since once the media has been used it cannot be re-used due to its small size and un-filtering ability. Soda is the "nicest" way to strip paint since it does not leave any oil like residue behind and it won't heat and wharp the metal (like sand). The bottom and door jamb areas can be sand blasted since they are heavy gauge metal, but our cabs are double wall construction and most of the rest of the cab would easily wharp if it were hit with sand. A couple cool things about soda, it can remove paint one coat at a time if desired, and it won't harm rubber or glass. Soda however, will not remove rust.

hope this helps - Jeff
