Here are the stock glue on vs GMC Pauls.
First two are stock, last three are the new ones. Doors shut fine.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Thanks for the pictures, now I know I've got to order them and get rid of my glue on ones.

BP68 noticed that the middle of the dash is smooth. Do you leave it this way?
Show us some pictures when it's ready.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Anyone have issues shutting the doors with the windows up after putting the new weather stripping on? Is this only on the 67 and 68 since they don't have door vents?

Do you need any modification to a stock Truck to make your Weatherstrip described above to fit?
I've got a 72 GMC that is having the Interior redone as I type, and this sounds like the way to go.

Mine are only hard to close with the windows up. If you put the window down it is like butter. Do you guys with door vents have this issue or is it just the models without? I am thinking of adding them if it fixes this issue.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Been away for a while. Glad I started this thread. Hope to have my truck on the road soon. Savin up for tires, picked up some wheels, getting bumpers this week. And need to fix a leaky axle seal. Then I hope to start driving around some. Interior is last phase.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Yes Thank You BP68 for the intial post on these I've had the Push On version for a while now and they've been popular with many but I've never been able to get a wide customer review of them after the purchase and you intial post started one.
LOL 67 Cheby, but come on they are Push On door opening weatherstrip just hank those old ones off and put the new ones on then when you need to repair or paint something pull em off and after done just put them back on and you'll seal out all those drafts & road noise. :>)
ledzepp Thanks!! I've heard basicly the same from anyones who's ever used them and I won't use anything else myself I"M GLAD TO BE RID OF THE GLUE and its associated problems!!

Paul,

Are the push on style seals available for 63-66's? I didn't see them online.

Thanks,

John

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

John AKA lakeroadster I'm sorry but we only currently have these for the 67-72 trucks, I don't own a 60-66 myself so I haven't had a truck I could use to test the various profiles of this push on style door opening weatherstrip on. If there are any 60-66 owners near Rockville that are willing to let me use there truck to develop this same weatherstrip for the 60-66 series I'd be more than willing to give a free set of push on door weatherstrip to them once I was able to determine the best profile seal to have them made from that worked to seal out the elements while not causing any problems closing the doors.

Sweet! To clarify, are you saying you used the 67-72 push on seals on your 64?

I here ya. I had one helluva time getting the glued on ones off my '65. I will be needing to replace them so I'll be following your lead on this.

So the doors close ok and seal up good with the 67-72 push-on seals?

John
