LMC bed cargo lamp

Has anyone bought one of these. If so I have a how to question. When you put the new rubber things in that have a small amount of metal threads in them, and then when you tighten them the rubber bulges on the inside of the wall of the cab making the light tighten down. So my rubber plug looking things are not doing what they are made to. They are pulling though and not tightening. HELP. SUGGESTIONS

Ace hardware carries them in different sizes. Maybe get the next size up?

Re: LMC bed cargo lamp

are they push'n in all the way down and are the thread's at the bottom ? I replaced mine with the LMC version with no issue's . the rubber bush'n should be stiff to push in but must be far enough for the rubber to swell inside befor it try's to push out.

Re: LMC bed cargo lamp

Yes that is what I did also. Thinking one, two, three and done! But it kept pulling through and bulging on the outside of the can wall. So i went to ACE Hardware and got the exact same size rubber lock nut washer thingies but just about twice as long and came home and they tightened right up!
