Couldn't have gone to a more deserving original paint guru. Awesome original and the lowest mile truck I know of at the moment.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Thanks guys! This truck is trully amazing, and needs to been seen in person. I love low mile survivor trucks, and I'm a hug fan of original paint. I never thought I would own something like this! And its my favorite color too :-)

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Congratulations Joe! You got a good price I think. I know how much it costs to build a high quality truck. This one has lower mileage than just about everybody's. I hope you put together a thread with lots of pictures.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Joe, How many 67-72's have you owned ? Did you tell me that this is your first shortbed ? LOL, After all these years of trucks, you just now got your shortbed cherry popped ? That is a "GORGEOUS TRUCK" & incredibly collectible. You are the perfect owner for such a collectible. Do you want me to email you the next truck I see on ebay that suits your collector needs ?
Call me when you are hauling thru my area of I-35 next weekend & nice knowing the Truck Museum is only 40 minutes away ! Can't wait to see this truck at some shows. Mike. |

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Good deal, Joe, and congratulations! I watched this go off last night and like I said, if I had room, you and me would have been in a bid war because I hate to lose
I hope you post plenty of pictures up with lots of detail, as I'm really interested about tag information and markings. Maybe one day I could come up and take a look at the truck when I'm going through Kansas to visit family (I'm a Topeka boy). By the way, I'd like to know when you plan to open your museum, too! Congratulations, Casey |

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
My guess is the 3rd vehicle up from the bottom in his sig, and of course the last one that says for sale. I think he'll hang on to the good stuff.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Congrats also, us purists are also relieved that this excellent example of a '71 base model will remain unaltered and history will be preserved. This is one of those "Freeze Frame" vehicles. You can't just buy a new Chevy pickup with painted white bumpers and hubcaps anymore ( Chevy stopped this tradition over 30 years ago). During the 70's the base model trucks seemed to dissappear while loaded down gingerbread trucks became the majority. A complete reversal of the way Chevy used to sell them. The condition on this one trumphs options. Many people fall into the logic: if it doesn't have options it is not valuable.Every truck has value on its strong points. Glad to see history will be preserved with this one.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
^ Actually, W/T series trucks came out around 1990 bringing back the economic no chrome base truck with painted bumpers and no frills. I hear what you're saying, but had to set that straight . History never stops. It just gets newer.(I remember when these were new trucks)

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Joe has some cool stuff for sure. Packed ever so tightly in his garages.
Now he needs to sell his place and get a larger garage. Glad the new truck is going to a good home.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Yes, Mike, this is my first short bed. I hope to be able to pick it up this saturday, if the weather is good. The truck will remain 100% stock. I might even add some reproduction bias tires and an AC delco battery. Anyone thats ever in the area is always welcome to stop by and visit. I do have things packed pretty tight in my garages though, so some things can be tough to get a good look at!
