They both worked good for me Asa. Sounds pretty impressive.

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

He suggested that I install a cooler thermostat and drop the temp on my cooling fans a smidge. Also suggested I relocate my air filter/MAF and then bring it back to him. My tailpipes aren't where I want them either... when I had this engine hooked up to my existing pipes, they hooked em up... but never looked at the back bumper... I've got a pipe touching the bumper constantly on one side... and flopping and rattling on the other...
He thought my exhaust was to small... but I'm not buying headers for it... this is a cruiser.

I also need to reinstall my a/c... compressor came in last week... just gotta get a camaro tensioner and a belt for it.

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

Thanks guys. It put down 250hp and 270 ft lbs of torque on a Mustang Dyno. He said that those were good numbers for a stock 5.3. I know it's not the fastest thing in town, but that's not what I'm trying to build... but it's way stronger then it was.

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

Nothing wrong with those numbers. Sounds right on for the 5.3. I'm sure it's plenty strong. I would be embarrassed to see what my old 350 would do. Haha

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

That's more than a stock 350 puts at the flywheel, so that's quite an improvement, especially with the mpg advantage, as well.

I don't know how I missed this, but its so good to see an update on your truck, Asa. I have been wondering what you had done with it since '09.

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

LoL! This month makes right at 2 years since I took the truck down for the LS swap. I've went through 2 car show/cruise-in seasons since then... I've never opened the hood on it an event unless I was asked by someone to see what was under it... and then I closed it when they were done looking.

I guess most people would want to show it off... and part of me does... I'm just not an "open hood" kinda guy... The vehicles lines don't "flow" with the hood up... not to mention I don't have to deal with the "experts" telling me what I did wrong on my build...

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

I like 'em down too, until someone asks. I just typed that I just saw on FB you washed it up and took it on a drive, "Hopefully you'll peek in and see this", then deleted instantly cuz there you were!

I know what you're saying. The lines of these trucks are incredible. I have mixed feelings about opening the hood. I took a lot of time doing the LS conversion on my truck, so it's nice when people appreciate the effort. One of the best compliments I get is that "It looks like it came that way from the factory." I'm not sure if people would even look at my truck if I left the hood down....

Re: Just a couple pics of my junk

was searching my posts (trying to find something I posted back... who knows when) and I came up on this thread...

Since a 59 was mentioned... yes... I have one... no, I didn't have to sell a truck to buy it.
