Don't let it get you down. There's always little things to do that doesn't cost much.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

Thanks Mike. My wife gave her to me when we got married and I'm Dieing to get her on the road. I named the ole Bird after my wife. "Rae" for Rachel. She is an amazing woman and I am lucky to have her. She also "Let" me trade my 94 formula for my C10.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

Well I'm gathering material to build a new frame. I'm gonna start from the ground up and just use the front section where the motor crossmember and front bumper mount. Everything else will be hand built by me. I have to build a layout table first then Ill jig up the frame rails and start asymbling (sp?) everything. I'm using 4.75 x 1.5 x .25 tubing for my main rails and cross member pieces.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

I didnt like the way mine was turning out and I know I can build a better frame. Not to be conceded or anything like that I just want my own custom Vess built ( me ) frame that when someone looks at it, they know I love my truck and that it is one of a kind.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

Well no real updates on my truck right now. Just been gathering materials and Planning the design of my frame. I am going 4 link instead of trailing arms. That has been a hard decision due to the fact that there are so many different ways to bag on 4 link. I like the parallel set up with another Link to the back with the bag closer to the rear bumper. More leverage more lift... Hopefully I can get this all drawn and complete soon. I'm shooting at trying to lay out my frame this weekend and hopefully get it tacked up. Here are some of the ideas I've been looking at. Still undecided...

Thumbs up Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

No but you're getting there .

Remember to do the inside of the doors too so they'll " THUNK " closed like a Caddy as well as reduce overall sound .

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

Alright, I'm back again.... lol
I started to get my frame layed out in the Man Cave.
Once I get a little more done on it I will post some picks.
I also drew up my own 4 link brkts. And found a guy close by to cut them for me.
Here are my hand drawn drafts. Let me know if they look ok?

First time Ive drawn anything in a while. Did these in about an hour.

Models look good. You using Pro-E to model? Doesn't look like Solid works (I use that everyday).

I like to see fellow designers also. We use NX.

Looks like you have a good design going on.

Yeah its ProE. I just started using it 2 days ago... hehe but, I have some good teachers. The drawings needs some work. I'm getting there though.
I also have my first sponser my truck. Woot! Thanks to Advanced Laser in Anniston, Al. I will be getting all my 4 link brackets for free! Woohoo!
