Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap

Started on the passenger fender. This is how the previous owner patched the fender. At least he didn't take the full length of the patch panel like on drivers side.

Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap

Got the new patch panel welded up along with the inner brace.
I'll coat back side of fender with POR15 to help keep rust away.

Mocked up the fender and fit great.

Sprayed epoxy primer on both fenders, cowl panels and bed front.

Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap

one thing I didn't catch, is what trans you're using?

I got the 4L60E with my LT1, but dunno if I actually want to use it.

Did you end up doing any smog deletions or other mods to the engine?

Yes, deleted all the smog stuff and had the computer flashed for that. I bought the block off plates for the holes.

Thanks for stopping by. I haven't done much at all. Seems like all I do is work. I plan to start back up in a couple months. Thanks.

Hi there, I haven't made much progress. Life got in the way. I'm hoping to start back at it this summer. Miss working on it. If you need anything let me know.

Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap

I don't understand what mounts do I use for the lt1 in a 67 c10. The bolts on the passenger side are flipped upside down. Engine is a 97. Everyone is saying just use stock mounts. I got straight 6 engine mounts 3 bolt. Will they work ?

Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap

The engine mounting provisions on the LT1 block is the same as the Gen I small block. Yes your I6 engine mounts will work just fine once you remove the bracket that attaches to the block. The '63-'72 truck engine mounts are all the same whether for a small block or an I6.
