Re: Makin' Some Progress On The 4x4 Longhorn
I have to paint the glove box door, ash tray, and cowl vent. Put the wing window and door glass in the drivers side door, and put the wood in the bed. I also have to put the emblems on the front fenders. I'm sure there is something I'm forgetting....

Re: Makin' Some Progress On The 4x4 Longhorn
Leon, do you have any issues putting on the retaining nuts for the emblems with the fenders on. I can't hardly get my arms in for the rear ones with the fenders on. Man the paint on that truck shines so nice!

I used barrel nuts/clips on the '72 GMC and the Red & White '71 to install the rear emblems. Here is a thread I posted on it.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=312162 LockDoc

Re: Makin' Some Progress On The 4x4 Longhorn
Wow Leon, that is turning out great. I know what ya mean about the milk crates. I've got them staggered all around mine. Lol. Wish I would have known about those barrel nuts a few months ago. Good tip.

I have been dragging my feet on this thing but I finally got some finish on the bed wood and got it in place a while back. I still have to put the bolts in it but I guess it's still progress. It is Cedar wood cut from old power poles. It def. has a lot of character.... I have been distracted with a couple of other projects that I wanted to get done so it is taking longer than it should. Here is one of the reasons for the delays.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=648822 LockDoc

That wood in there looks awesome, nothing like recycling good wood, should hold up well in the weather, good choice. I like the character of the wood

I really like that you did this color-matched bed strips rather than stainless. Best look in my book.
