Re: Alternator...opened up a mess...love the PO

I ordered 2 terminal single bolt junctions that look like the factory junction block. I will be running one on the driver's side to connect all the wires that were crimped together. I will also be adding one to the passenger side. What wires are normally joined there? I want to make the wiring permanent and reliable. Once I get everything where it needs to be for the drivetrain to be reliable, I will begin on some bodywork. I have rocker panels, kick panels etc... all ready to go!

What part number do you guys use for the 12SI in case I get this all wired up properly and it still does not charge beyond 13.5 volts?

Re: Alternator...opened up a mess...love the PO

I was able to re-work the alternator using a voltage sensing wire. It eliminated the deiseling and it now shows 14.3 volts at the back of the alternator and at the junction. It even shows 14.3 at the battery. Voltmeter is now working too. Thanks for all the help.

Looks like I don't need a new alternator yet!
