It is supposed to be round with no groove in it. I would check the parts board on here to see if someone has one for sale. You can't post a "want to buy" because you aren't a "Premium" member but if you see one for sale you can buy it. You could also check your local salvage yards if you have any. LockDoc

Re: Upper clutch rod
Thats worn out. Mine looked the same at both ends. I welded it up and ground it back to round and it works fine. Better feel to the clutch too.
I bought parts to make up a new rod with him joints, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Re: Upper clutch rod
I went with Heim Joints on my '68 C/10 w/292 L6. My machinist made it for me, not the LMC junk. The V8 upper clutch rods [the bent ones] may still be available from some vendors. Most junkyard examples would be severely grooved, as the OEM part was some kind of pot metal and wore thru quick.

Re: Upper clutch rod
I'm glad you mentioned the other end, I pulled it and it is as bad as this end. My son welded it up and I did the grinding. It is amazing how much slop that removed from the linkage. Thanks!
