I think you guys have been secretly watching my wife and I. I swear, she can hear a moth fart in the closet...with the door shut !
Apparently when I am thinking or reading, I murmur words too and she is always asking what I'm saying. Now I'm thinking Boog is right, they hear the words in our heads...SCARY...

1970 SS 396, 4 speed, 3.31 positraction, gauge package, buckets, no console, and A/C, as ordered. Originally white, black top and interior. Documented car, so no fake one... LOL
You have a very nice car and I like the Blue and will, most likely, go back with that, but no vinyl top.
I brought the roto into the shop yesterday and discovered the lift bar isn't wide enough for this body... It's 48" wide and the mount holes on the front of the body are ~ 56" wide. The attaching arms are on the bar ~ 1.5". I have, occasionally, done crazy stuff, that other people think is dangerous, but that isn't going to work...
Going to a steel supply near me today to get more tubing to extend the bar another 12" on each side. Just one of the first delay's this project will see, I'm sure. They never do go as planned...

Good luck with your project. Not sure if mine is a true SS or not, bought it this way and during the restore never found the build sheet. Changed from bench and A/T column shift to buckets/console and floor shift. Interior was freshened with new carpet, door panels. Made a nice cruiser, new paint which is original code 26 Mulsanne Blue.

I was in a similar place 40 years ago. My car didn't need a frame off restoration, but I did it anyway. A picture before and after.

Big window and front really soaked up the stain because they catch the sun all day, the other two sides are mostly shaded.

I actually am proud of the way I scaled that ladder now that I'm a 68 year old fat retired couch potato.

Really?
Then I guess it hasn't been safe for at least the last dozen winters or so.

It's not like I stick my head out the upstairs window and huff in the smoke and I do have a carbon monoxide detector in here that I monitor constantly.

Smoked cigarettes for 48 years so I have no plans to run the Boston Marathon anytime soon, but climbing that ladder really surprised me, I thought it would have been a lot tougher or even impossible for me now.

ETA: Hey thanks LockDoc, me and that dang thing are holding up well.

I see where he is coming from. Yea, it has worked. The cap should be terminated above the roof line. Not just for fumes, the heat against the house. I cannot count the amount of improper installations of wiring, appliances, etc in my career. The situation existed for years yet somehow catastrophe never came. Maybe, what is instructed is overkill? Do no want to be the one that tests "instructions" by a manufacturer. Come from an HVAC, electrical and fireplace background. No offense, just remarks.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Like Richard said the cap should terminate above the roof line not just because of CO2 but if there was ever a chimney fire the house would go up real quick also being terminated there it hampers the draft of the stove. Secondly the pipe joints are reversed the upper pipe should always go inside the lower pipe so creosote doesn’t weep out like in the picture . Third black non insulated pipe isn’t suppose to be used outside because of corrosion and again if there was a chimney fire . Lastly you can see the lean of the pipe towards the house which comes from no supports .

I used to install wood stoves as a side gig in the 80’s and had to be trained by the woodstove manufacturers in order to do so I also had to supply the certificate to the town on each install .

In my experience I have seen many improper installs where nothing ever happened but all you need is the one time to lose everything.

I bought my 66 41 years ago . Didnt do a frame off since it was a 50k mile car and never used in inclement weather. I painted it 31 years ago and it still looks good but up close the years have taken a toll some scratches and rock chips . May paint this coming year .

I would have to agree with everything you said. I installed the chimney on my cabin. The first thing I did was download a pdf of the fire code for fireplace & woodstove, and the owners manual for the used stove that I bought. After reading both several times I made my purchases. Between the correct chimney pipe, the proper boot to go through the metal roof & stove boards to protect the floor and wall, I spent almost $900 to install a $150 used stove. I know it is done right & has kept the uninsulated cabin warm in temperatures down to -8.
Thought I had a picture of the chimney above the roof but I can't find it.
