Where does this wire go?

I own a 1970 C-10. 350, automatic with Air.

I was replacing the vacuum lines today and found this wire behind the engine. I don't think that I knocked it off of anything but could have when replacing the tranny line. The air compressor is not installed. The connector on the wire looks like it goes to the compressor but there is a similar wire already in the position of the compressor...tied off on a high pressure hose. That makes me think this wire is for something else. would it go to the transmission? If so where? The connector is melted but will still work. I laid it on the exhaust manifold in this photo.

Thanks
