Dually Alcoa question
I bought some used Alcoa's for my Dually this past weekend.
The guy said they came with the lugs and caps, but when I got home the box was only lug-nut caps, but no lug-nuts. The wholesale on the lug-nuts is over $7 each(!) from Alcoa so I was wondering what other options might be available? I was anxious to mount them on my truck so I went ahead and installed them using the compression rings from the steel wheels I removed. In talking the guy at Les Schwab's he is telling me that I absolutely cannot do this as the rims aren't designed to be mounted this way. The guy from Discount said you are not supposed to do that, but only because the rings will mar the rims? Any input? Also, looking at the Alcoa website they don't show a lug cover for the light-duty/16" rims. I was thinking that I could run some covers like on simulators, but if the LS guy is right, this is not feasible. Thoughts?
