Almost universal consensus is SBC don’t need nor do they recommend a high volume pump. On all my builds I run the Z/28 standard volume higher pressure pump. Even if I have a large cap oil pan.
THe Z/28 came with a 5 quart oil pan FWIW. It had extra baffles to seal in the windage tray. I have one in my shop.
