TACH GAUGE CLUSTERS - What years fit what? HELP!!!

It is my understanding that there is someone who knows all things, PLEASE O WISE ONE will you share your wizdom? I have an 86 swb and I bought a tach dash of E*#Y not knowing that it might not fit. It looks like it has a plug-in type tach harness and it has an AMP meter. How can you tell which year model you have? And what years fit what?
I just installed a 406sb/400 turbo tranny in and would like to be able to keep an eye on things, ediot lights ainn't right! HELP!!!!
