Blazer going under the knife, some ?s

I've got a 72 Blazer and a 72 Jimmy I'm about to tear down and build one using parts from both. One is rusty and one is dented up. How hard is it to change out bedsides - do they unbolt or do you have to cut them out? Is it possible to make a Blazer door by cutting the top section off a truck door? It looks like it will work, but I want to make sure before I go hacking up some good truck doors. I'm just getting started and I'm sure I'll have some more questions as I go. Thanks for any help!!
