exhaust snapping

I would like to know if any of you have ever had a truck that was straight piped. Different states have different laws so some of u push the envelope and some don't. I was just curious what the best setup would be to get it so my exhaust snaps. I prefer that than the rumble. Different strokes for different folks. The 87 i have that im sfbd had 2 inch straight pipe and it snapped pretty good. In the states you may have different muffler makes but i thought a shorter bottle would help the snap, maybe a 12" bottle and put it on backwwards they say. Any ideas. The smaller the diameter the better it will rap i assume
