ok, got my truck home...now what? lol

got the 68 home yesterday, it's rusty, has some bondo in it, but it's not horrible I dont think. Ran the vin, found out it USED to be a V8 truck but I'm ok with the six (250) here's the thing: I put another radiator in it and put in a new battery- it will start with lots of cranking and giving it gas, doesnt want to stay running on its own but if you keep your foot on the gas for a few minutes it will idle on its own- doesnt want to rev up easily...there are no wires going to the carb (1 bbl. Rod.) and no vacuum lines (they are all capped off) - do I need to run some vac. lines to it, and where do I adjust the idle speed and mixture? - thanks guys...
