Got my new exhaust on: One Word...DAMN!
All I can say is WOW! These things are NICE! It took 2 hours for the exhaust shop to get my exhaust exactly like I wanted it (only charged me $80) partially because it was tricky, but partially because the guy who was working on my truck had to answer phones to stupid people asking the same question "What time do you close?" So...here's what I had done..
I had mandrel bent Hedman X-Tensions put on after the head collectors. These are 3" flange with 2½" pipe, REAL nice quality. The guy at the exhaust shop had to shorten up the drivers side one a bit, because it was hitting the tranny crossmember, no biggie though, easily done and it still looks like it's never been cut! So, on to the next side. On the passenger side, he had to cut off the S bend portion, and lengthen the straight part, so the bend would clear the crossmember. Again, perfectly clean welds. Then on to the mufflers. They tucked my Hooker Maximum Flow's up nicely under the bed and put nice hangers on em. (With rubber isolators, so they won't rattle, and sound like a$$.) I shoulda snapped some pictures while my truck was up on the lift, so yall could see. but I'm sure later today I'll be able to snap some pictures off for yall.
As for the sound...well..at idle, it's got a nice little rumble to it, even at cruise it's still pretty mild...but lemme tell ya, once you go WOT...all I can say is DAMN!! That thing sounds like a full on racecar! MEAN MEAN MEAN! I think I did notice a difference too, for one, when I went and done a burnout last night, it had a FAT cloud, and it lasted until almost 3rd gear! Then also, when I was driving around 40mph, and punched it, it seemed to have more kick to it.
All in all, for a grand total of $225, I'm QUITE impressed!
