Angry Need help getting 2wd Manual Trans cross member out.

I'm taking my 4 speed out and putting in a new th400. Last night I was trying to get the 4 speed cross member out, but had a hard time. This should come out just by using a BFH, but I want to know if there was a trick to it. IE pound the left side of the cross member forward and the right side towards the back.

Can anyone offer any real good advice besides cutting this?
