mystery engine 250, 292?

Hi All:

In our project, the SPID on the truck (1967) says it has a 292 inline 6. It DOES have an inline 6. After taking it apart, engine cylinders (measured with a regular dial caliper) measure 3.915 diameter. Stroke 3.5 +/- (sort of measured from cylinder wear marks, etc. not a great measurement yet, and crank is already off), which would go along with this being a later year 250 bored out .030. (The engine casting is 328576, which on the net points to a 68+ 250 CID.)

For parts, etc., are we safe to conclude it is a 68 250, bored once?

(Oh yes...one more factoid...One piston appears to be original size, but cylinder it came out of is oversize.)

Thanks!

Mark
