Cruise control

Give me some honest opinions. Let's talk cruise control. Cruise control is in no way a requirement by any means, but like many of us it would be the added feature of our trucks (power windows, cd player, etc.) So my truck did not come with cruise control but somewhere over the years-between owners my trucks steering column got switched out with a cruise control switch on the turn signal. So that's what sparked the idea. What's it gonna take to install a full cruise control system in our trucks that never had it? Is there an aftermarket kit? Is it even worth it at all? Tell me all the pros and cons all the different ways of going about it, before I dive in head first into something I don't know alot about. Thanks for everybody's .02
