Need some Exhaust advice.

I have an 86 GMC Suburban with a carbureted 350. It has stainless headers, and it came with a factory SS true-dual isolated exhaust.

Well it finally died last week. It got a hole in the muffler after 25 years.

I had the shop replace everything from the headers back with 2.5" 14 gauge alumanized pipes and some 50 series delta flow Flowmasters.

Anyway, though it sounds great, it's a little loud. I made sure the shop left some straight long sections before the mufflers so I could add resonators to calm it down. I'm thinking about using a couple Hushpower II Hp-2 shortys to help things out in the noise department.

Also, will a H-pipe help much for sound quality? How did you guys manage to route it on a 4WD truck?

Thanks for your advice and opinions.
