'65 GMC LWB, my FIRST TIME!

Hey all,
I'm brand new to the board and wanted to ask a few questions, if I might?
My wife and I ran across a 1965 GMC the other day, and fell in love right away. I would love whatever advice I could get. The body is straight, never been hit that I can see. The wheels are 8-lug. The wood from the bed is rotted out, but I don't mind the work it'll take to bring it back. It's got the original V-6, just touched 100K miles, with the "CUSTOM" badging on the cab uprights behind each door. It's a manual 4-speed transmission. There's some rust-thru on the cab-floor along the panel in front of each door, but the rocker-panels are solid and dry.
We met that gal who's selling it, and test-drove it the same day. It runs strong. I have my mechanic going to look at it tomorrow afternoon.

What else should I be asking or looking for?

What's a fair price? My wife says I look like I belong in the truck, and I gotta admit It was SO FUN to drive!

I look forward to any response and perspective, and thanks in advance!
