Compressor Oil and Sighting

I just fell into a new-to-me Ironhorse compressor (see the details) and aside from a few smallish issues it's also out of oil. Or as we say it around here, 'earl.

It has a sight glass but there's no markings as to how high to fill it up. Do I just dump oil in it till its full? This is my first 'earled compressor so I'm clueless.

Also, does oil brand/type matter? Can I just dump some 10w30 in it?

This is kinda what the sight glass looks like
