Suburban grill swap

A little help here please I did the suburban grill swap on my 87 stepside this weekend, I got everything off the suburban for the swap including the wiring harness to to the fuse box. My problem is that the suburban wiring wont come close to plugging in to my fuse box which was for only two headlights. Am i missing something here or is it time to splice wires. Also my DA shut the hood to check alignment and i forgot that I hadn't hooked up the cable on the hood release yet, anybody no how to get the hood open? Am i going to gave to try any reach up from the bottom and unlatch it. It was late last night when i did this so I haven't really tried anything yet
