When we where redoing my 77 Chevy Sport frame and rear axle I took a picture of the code. I know the KBD stands for 3:73 Locking Def.. The 164 is the Julian date of the axle. W is for the Windsor Axle plant. 72 I presume is for
1977 and the 2 is for second shift. The one I do not know is the far right which is "F". On Camaro's and Vettes the "E" is for Eaton Posi. What is the "F" for?? Anybody?? Thanks Larry. ![]() Pictures below. |
