Wanting to lower 69 C20.

So I want to lower my truck. After reading different posts on here I've learned that i can use the c10 springs. So i was going to go with a 3/5 drop spring kit from CPP because i still have drum brakes all around. Now here's my issue, after doing some research here I've noticed that some are opposed to using 3" drop springs and its making me a little nervous in going forward with that project. I looked on ECE's site and talked to them but they only offer a 2/4 kit with springs and I think that would not be enough drop for me. I also got a quote from a shop for 2300 bucks for a basic air ride set up. I think eventually i may do that, but that is a big expense and theres still some projects i want to do before that. Can I get your guys suggestions on what to do and if you have used 3" drop springs in front, have you had any issues? Thanks in advance, This forum is awesome. Here's a pic of how it sits now.
