I am trying to get used to this tight Hurst shifter, as I like mine loose as a goose, not very racy of me, but I just like wiggling the thing when I'm sitting at a red light

so after putting the cover back on, I now was able to use the shifter to shift between 1st and 2nd gear, its kind of hard when your transmission is resting on the tailgate of your truck not bolted up to anything, but you can do it

now Reverse Gear - forget about it, I can shift it by holding the rod in my hand, but the only way I can get it into reverse with the shifter is by using a flat screw driver and wedge it under the control mechanism, more on that later

so decided to pop the dust plate off from the belly of the control mechanism, check out how filthy it was
