292 Flywheel Question

My 292 was originally in an automatic truck and I'm working on putting a T5 behind it right now. When I pulled the flexplate off, I noticed that there was a spacer, roughly 1/8", between the crank and the flexplate. I did not reinstall it with the flywheel.

Do I need to run that spacer between the flywheel and the crank or was that for the flexplate only?
