New cab pads too thick for my '62

Just finishing some rust repair in the floors of my '62 C10 and am about to replace the cab pads. Ordered a set that's supposed to fit '60-'66, but the ones the Truck Shop in Orange, CA sent appear to be way too thick and shaped differently. I've head nobody is making pads specifically for the '62, so adapting the ones like I might be the only option. Questions:

1) Does anyone make cab pads that are the same size and shape as OEM pads?

2) If not, should I just shave the ones from the Truck Shop down to the proper thickness?

3) Mine are squished enough that it's hard to tell exactly how thick the top and bottom ones should be. Does anyone have specs on these?

4) As far as shaving the new ones down, what's the best way to do this? Cut them? Grind them? Or??

Thanks for any help with this.
