Re: Precision brand fuel tank from O'Reillys
Picked up my O'Reillys tank today and am very happy with it. Made in Canada. Had the packaging where the neck was sticking out of the box. Didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Some scrapes on the neck, but no dents. Seems like if it took a hit that was hard enough to move the neck, the metal would be dented some and it wasn't. Only damage was a bent flange on the bottom passenger side corner, but was able to straighten it with channel locks. It fits very well. The angles are perfect. The neck is offset about 1/8" to 3/16" toward the front of the truck from the perfect centerline of the hole, but I was able to put my old crispy 52 year old grommet back in and everything looks good. The grommet allows some forgiveness and when I look at the shadow of where it sat with the original tank, I can see it was biased towards the front of the truck when if came from the factory. Thankful for the tips on here! One little worry now set aside.
