Hood Hinge Color?

I pulled the worn hood hinges off my dad's '75 and they look like original. He doesn't remember them ever being replaced (he's owned it since '76). They are painted black. The truck has had resprays (black truck), so I can't say for sure that the hinges were always black and not the dark gray phosphate color you see on some parts and bolts.

I picked up a pair of new GM hinges (stamped Taiwan 6262007, 6262008) and they are black (appears to be EPD paint).

All signs point to the correct color being black, but I'm not totally convinced and wonder if the original hinges in '75 were phosphate gray.

Any experts in the house?
