Today would have been the day...

Today would have been my first day of retirement if GM had not paid me to go away early.

I turn 65 in a week. I went on Medicare as of today (first day of your birthday month). Yesterday would have been 40 years and 3 months with GM. I miss the people, enjoyed most of my jobs, and would not go back into the auto industry unless they paid me a LOT of money.

Still have my dad's 1980 GMC that started my square addiction, quietly rusting in the field. But I have time to get to some of those projects now, and I'm pretty sure I have almost every part to build it and the one in the barn. I think I counted 11 straight 6's the other day...

You guys have been my friends, helpers and entertainment for several years now. While I don't post a lot, I read all the threads in several of the forums, and appreciate all the knowledge you so generously share.

Thanks!
