A/C 250ci 6 cyl dipstick length
I have recently bought a factory a/c 69 c10 with a 250 6cyl.
Dipstick tube is bolted to front of compressor. I checked oil first time and it showed it was barely on the tip of the dipstick. Eyeballing it, it looks like dipstick is too short to reach down into the pan. Possible? It runs fine, does not overheat on first drives but concerned if I add oil (a couple quarts) it will be way overfull if stick is too short & not measuring all the way down. Is an a/c dipstick longer? Or am I really just that low on oil? Here is a pic of the routing on both. On my other 6 it is straight down the side. I'd measure both but the blue one is at the farm @ 60 mi away. The one in the green truck is @39 1/4" See pics. Many thanks. George |
