jamesjones, that K5 of yours is hardly a hooptee. I love that thing! You have some amazing fabwork on that thing. Even though I never posted on your pic threads, I was pretty damn amazed at the work, and the thing looked great to me!
Maybe we should hit cruisin grand in Escondido before I leave to Utah. Get the K5s representing... Far as paintwork, this was painted in Utah (where they can use the GOOD stuff ), but I can tell you where NOT to go- Miracle Paint and Body in Santee. Paint on my 82 was fading bigtime and they wouldn't honor their own warranty to fix it- to be exact, they said that the warranty ONLY covers materials, not labor! Read the FINE print. Do all of the prep and body work, unbolt everything, and take it to Maaco ready to paint. That's what I will do next time...

How did you get the stock bumper to fit up with the 3" body lift?

I had a buddy cut the front 2-3" of the frame horns off, weld a plate onto the frame, and weld the frame horns up 3".
Good for looks... Baaaad for front impact. Course if I get in a front collision, I am pretty sure the bumper is a liiiitle high to work as designed anyways.
