Got a new digicam today, thought I would finally show you all the pics of the K5 as she looks now.

Little wrap up-

Thought I had a bump steering issue after the lift. Turns out the steering belt was slightly loose! Since the belt was only slightly slipping and not squealing, it wasn't obvious, but would make the truck 'bump' when I was steering at times.

Steering was still loose and a little sloppy after all of the front end work. I was pretty peeved at first. Turns out the steering coupler was toast. I replaced the rubber steering coupler, and suprisingly, the steering tightened RIGHT up, felt as good as new.

Truck feels AWESOME now. All of the bugs have been worked out. Holly Street Avenger is AWESOME, and another hint- go with the 'black' spring for the vacuum secondaries- kicks the secondaries in later for economy. I didn't notice even a slight performance loss and my mileage like doubled! I wouldn't be surprised if I am at 12-14mpg now.

The 2 1/2" dual exhaust with headers was a little much for the mild 350 I have. Lost a little low end. I should have stuck with 2 1/4" duals.

Without further ado, here are pics of the truck and the new exhaust. I really need to work out some rattles in this truck, drives me nuts, but otherwise, so much fun to drive! Brakes and handles like new, even sky high! Watch out Utah, here I come! Can't wait to settle down and get the top off.

Looks nice, who makes that exhuast? how do those "bullets" sound? my flowmasters are pretty obnoxious at WOT, I was considering a change.

The exhaust was custom made at a shop down here in San Diego (that I would recommend to ANYONE). The mufflers are from Bullet Performance. They are basically next gen glasspacks. Basically they have a new sound cancellation insulation that all of the OEMs now use (Insulex I think), with a stainless steal cage to prevent any blow out. They are straight hole designs, and flow very well.

They are QUIET. I was actually disappointed with how quiet they were when I first drove it, but they have since worn in, and sound GREAT! Nice low rumble at idle, and still sounds great when you open it up. To top it off, it is QUIET at cruise with a nice low rumble to it. Since they have opened up, I love em!

that looks awesome. are those tires bias or radial? do they make any noise? i like the h-pipe in the exhaust

Thanks! Tires are radials and are pretty dang quiet for a 38x15.50... They do have a hum, but very manageable. This is the first 'All Terrain' I have had in years and years though, so quiet to me may not be quiet to you.

I was stuck on Goodyear MT/Rs and BFG MTs for years.

No vibration though, and this thing actually rides pretty good! I thought the H pipe was pretty creative too! I just trusted the shop and left it to them to do their best.

Think i should let the monkey tool on my blazer down at Big O and let them lift it?????? They say they use rancho stuff but they dont make a kit for our trucks do they?!?! I have 2.5 i think with flowmaster 2 chambers. As soon as i get it lifted , i'm going to cut outs - - - any one have cut outs on their blazer?

Your K5 turned out great! Nice lift/wheel/tire combo. Do you think that cross pipe in the exhaust helps a lot?

Medicanman71 - Rancho does make lifts for our trucks. My '69 has a 6" Rancho lift (spring/blocks). It is a bouncy ride (hence my board name.) I'd find out if the guy at the BIG O knows what he is doing - lifts aren't something to mess around with if you value your life and others on the road near you! Also, where are you located? The location in you profile is real cute, but it doesn't help us know where you are.

I'm in NorCal and i'm used to a beat @$$ susp. anyways so soft or hard, i'm sure it's going to handle 100000 better then it does now, i'm sure it will "Feel wrong" once its all fixed up heh heh. I do trust my local big O, but I think there are better places in my area.

If any one knows a good shop near Santa Rosa - let me know whats up.

Boy, as far as I knew, I thought that was a stock tank... Seems to be strapped in real well, with the hoses all routed cleanly. Can anyone else shed some light on that?

From what I gather, the cross pipe works better in the Fords that sequentially fires 2 cylinders on the same side, instead of the Chevy's that alternate RH-LH sides. It does have a nice even sound though. Not sure to be honest, but since it cost the same, shoot, why not? Now I even have a makeshift driveshaft loop!

Ya, it needs a new heater core and blower fan... I will definitely have to get that stuff in order this summer. Thanks for all of the compliments guys!

you're right, just wear really warm clothing. It hard to see me live anywhere where I know It get really cold/snows. Heck i live in Cali and it sometimes gets to cold for me. I'm a tropical person.

redz it looks stock to me. Mind hangs down about the same amount. I think to others it just looks bigger because it is usuall covered by the rear bumper.

Also, did you get it painted here in San Diego? If so where was it and what did it run you(if you don't mind my asking)? My hooptee is in dire need of a paint job.
