Continued to install new wiring. Using an EZ wiring kit....... and talk about time consuming!

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

Drove to Reddeer for a swap meet on Sat.It was a great meet!Bought a few new tins to add to the collection,a couple of johnny lightning trucks, ordered up my steering column and steering wheel, and talked about a set of strong arms for the moneypit.
Today I spent the day shining up the GP (had it professionally detailed a few days ago but it turns out that I'm a bit pickier than they are).
I enjoyed my weekend muchly!

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

man, i wanted to get the wiring and chydraulics for the clutch installed on the truck, but somehow i got suckered into doing landscaping in the yard - cut about 10 square yards of sod out and planted a bunch of gardenias, hydrangeas, rosemary and assorted other stuff.

close on my house tomorrow, travel for work next weekend ... bleh.

On a side note, Saturday I picked up a cowl with no antenna provision from board member 'uncle' - always a pleasure to deal with him (thanks, Tim), probably one of the nicest guys on the forum to do business with. I also got a pretty nice passenger inner fender. Will proceed to shave the battery provision out, DA the thing, paint it up and reinstall it in the near future (after the other stuff is done)/

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

completed the wiring for my bag setup and fired up the compressor and valves for the first time. Also got all of the line run for the compressor, tank and valves. All i have left is to finish drilling the holes for the rear bag mounts/fill (what a pain in the ass) and run the line for the bags.

Once that's done, work begins on the front.

pics are in my build thread (will be shortly) linked in my sig.

Went to the car show in Silvana on Sat. Showed the flatbed and meet droppedgmc with his swb 68. Then today loaded 2000 lbs of garbage and went to the dump.

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

On mine, I got most of the cab seam sealed, finished welding the last few remaining holes on the firewall, layed down the skim coat and sanded, touched up a few spots with Metal Glaze, and got the template for the new dash made. Also got the outside of the bed sanded completely and ready for primer.

On Dad's, got the Performer intake/carb installed. Had to rejet a couple steps lower on both ends, but boy did that swap make a huge difference! Also got the transmission linkage at the trans swapped out (it was WAAAY worn out), and got the TH400 kickdown hooked back up and working.

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

Bought some rally wheels, caps, and rings. They are a little rough but a little cleaning made them look pretty good. Now, I just need tires.

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

Pulled the motor out of the K20, then pulled the donor motor out of the Monte Carlo. Cleaned up the new motor, swapped accessories & brackets, then sold the Monte Carlo to keep the wife and neighbors appeased. Hopefully the new motor goes in today.

It looked like my driveway didn't have enough oil on it, so I let the 68 drop a few more coats on it...

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

Started working on the outside heater box on the 68, getting ready to get it put on (after 5 years), and broke the air door. So I cussed a little and gave up for the day. I have a new heater box on the way (thanks Wornbrakes), so I'll do that next weekend...
