What did you get done? 05/06/07

I finished taking the side off a short fleet bed and did some body work on it.I spread some more gravel down the driveway, and mowed on Saturday...I think I'm going to go out and remove a tilt column now with the remaining daylight hours....

Well, somebody has to say it: Those Flowmasters are gonna sound nasty on that bike!

As for me, I did not one thing. I was too busy getting the deal done on my wife's birthday/mother's day gift (they fall on the same day this year -- ouch). She named it "Cupcake."

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

Worked on the filler area on the inside of the bed. Finished welding up the inside of the inner bed wall and started fabbing up the box to cover the fill neck. I need to get me a break, the old fashion scribing and hammering to get my edges got a little old, but it does work. I have to finish sanding the seam sealer. I have the top partially formed, but I have to clean up some reinforcing welds, then weld it into place and clean it all up.

Today I did my catchup on finances and some other chores around the house.

Now THATS COOL 67ratrod. Hows the performance vs. a 4 barrel??? WAIT, nevermind. You haven't run it yet, have you?

I went to a wood-cutting equipment show Saturday. Today I stripped down the 350 and got the camshaft out. Good thing I pulled the cam too, it was worn pretty good.

I finished the rough sanding and sprayed the entire body in epoxy. Then took a long walk on the beach!

Re: What did you get done? 05/06/07

I finished taking apart my new SWB fleetside bed that I picked up...and I then banged on the floor section for a couple of hours to get it somewhat flat again....

I also took the top half off my 355 in my wagon to change out the lifters..(had one tapping)...took out the radiator to have a leak fixed..and figured since I had the polished aluminum valve covers and intake off..I'd send them off to be powder coated...since I'm sick of trying to keep them clean and shiney

And then after all that...to finish the evening off...I cleaned up the 2" of leaves behind where my truck sits on the driveway under a big tree...

I saw trucks, talked trucks, looked at truck parts then repeated. Also attended the CGITC meeting and cookout Sat. and watched Luv2X eat 3 racks of ribs at "Fat Buddies" in Wayneville NC.It rained on the Nats again this year but it's still a great show with a layed back atmosphere and lots of BB members hanging together.

Picked up my rebuilt 383 Friday. I rented a hot water power washer (Hotsey) to clean the engine bay. This thing rocks, 240deg water cuts through the grease & grime! I did the whole under side too.
