Re: Insurance
Crap on all that. Got a call back from All State and the lady said Hagerty won't do it b/c Im on my parents plan. It seems like my only option is to put my DD on my own plan now.
And to think I was going to be driving it by now....shoulda known

Re: Insurance
Does any one know a company that will do full coverage on a daily driver?
I think Progressive is the only one. I am actually an agent here in TX for 15 years and do not know anyone who will do a classic as a daily driver. I am selling my 06 and need to know.

Re: Insurance
^All State. I have comprehensive and collision on my 67 for $600/year with a stated value of 7K.
I called state farm and they said they do it too. Insurance companies won't use the term "full coverage" but that's essentially what I have.... comp, coll. uninsured motorist, etc...

Re: Insurance
^I'm not sure what you don't understand about my post, but my truck IS insured as a daily driver, with "full coverage." I DO NOT have a policy with All State on my Z71, I have that through Geico, all state wanted too much $$ to insure my Z71 and Geico won't insure my 67 for more than liability. As far as All State knows, I don't own another vehicle.
My 67 is parked outside in a parking lot and I have ZERO restrictions on when and where I can drive it. As I stated above, state farm will insure as a daily driver with a stated or appraised value as well. I couldn't get the "cheap" classic insurance because I drive my truck DAILY and it is not parked in a locked garage. Call state farm and all state, tell them you have a truck you want to insure as a daily driver with "full coverage" with a stated value. All State asked me what I thought the value was, I showed them pictures, and they agreed to it. State farm wanted me to get an actual apraisle (sp?) Hope that clears that up?

Re: Insurance
You're welcome!
I had a hell of a time finding someone to insure my truck as a DD. I called ALL the classic places and some of the locals and I either couldn't drive it during the week (or to work) AT ALL AND/OR it HAD to be kept in a locked garage. I finally lucked out with All State.

Re: Insurance
Finally got some insurance. Went through State Farm. All I had to show was proof my daily driver was insured, and I got 'Antique' vehicle coverage. Supposed to have, but they arent strict apparently, classic vehicle plates, which Ill be getting pretty soon. She said there was a 2500 miles a year restriction but said not to worry about it, they never check or anything. They insured it at 13,500, b/c thats what their values say its worth. She said get some kind of proof its worth the 20K I say it is and they will change it. Full coverage for only 28 bucks a month sounded really good to me. Plus I dont have to have it in a fully enclosed locked garage or anything.
Now who/where to get an appraisal?

Re: Insurance
Be VERY-VERY careful of your mileage. IF something happens, odometer reading is put on claim form. It's the adjusters job, and the audit person to check policy restrictions etc. I learned this the hard way even though dad was an adjuster. I had a 56 Chev worth over 35k, when I wrecked it, the mileage figured at more than the 2500 miles a year on policy. Claim DENIED!!!! I know several people this has happened to with various companies. BE CAREFUL!!!! It's not worth the few bucks you save.
